Send the Elevator Back Down

kevin spacey picReality television and social media have turned our society into a bunch of voyeurs and couch critics.  When I am not binge watching House of Cards on Netflix, my current addiction is filled with a Monday night dose of Dancing with the Stars.  I find myself being critical of their abilities and then make myself laugh when I picture trying to achieve any of the dances they so boldly perform.  Honestly, many of the contestants in Season 20 are inspirational and fantastic role models of tenacity, perseverance and confidence.  Patti LaBelle @ 70 years of age has a “New Attitude” and Noah Galloway, a US Army Veteran and amputee, makes me cry weekly.  His spirit and teamwork are evident in his performance.  His trust in his professional dance partner and passion for success demonstrates that the impossible is truly possible.  I believe that getting out of one’s comfort zone will ensure we continue to propel forward with the hopes that we will be lucky enough to succeed.

At TeamPAR our commitment to teamwork has enabled our success.  Listening to our clients and leaning on each other has kept our business offerings relevant.  Networking through industry specific groups has been key for us…. We learn from our peers and introduce one another along the way.  Send the elevator back down…. Mentoring the next generation is imperative.   Personally, I get more back than I give as a mentor and our society will continue to be better for it.  It takes guts and a raw vulnerability to step out of the box and applaud the efforts of others as you lead by example.
