Karen & Alexa’s Favorite Things: The Wellness Series, Part 7…. Cocoon by Sandler Seating

#7…. Cocoon by Sandler Seating

In today’s office environment, we are asked to move at warp speed.  With mobile devices, we are always accessible.  The workplace is trending towards open office environments and the media is shoving misery down our throats 24 hours daily.  No wonder people may be anxious or are searching for ways to decompress.

Sometimes you cannot take the day off or take a needed vacation.  We at TeamPAR have successfully designed and built relaxation rooms that enabled employees to enter a “screen free” environment for 10 minutes or more and enjoy the time to relax and engage their senses through aroma and sound therapy, stretching, enjoying a massage chair, meditating, day dreaming while enjoying the wall mural or doodling and journaling to free your mind.   If your environment does not have a room that TeamPAR can help transform into an oasis then perhaps a Cocoon would do!

Is it a chair?  Is it a rocket? —- It is intriguing and can add value to employees in any environment.

Danish architect, Carsten Buhl, designed the Cocoon for Sandler Seating.  While at NeoCon in Chicago this year, I got to experience the Cocoon first hand.  The compact yet roomy mobile Cocoon could fit into any office nook or cranny and enable privacy and personal space where it currently doesn’t exist.  This acoustic seating unit is outfitted with built-in Bluetooth speakers, a USB charger and LED lighting.

Cocoon has a futuristic shape; and like the caterpillar transforming into a beautiful butterfly, Cocoon instantly alters your environment into a cease-fire of goodwill and tranquility. Seated in the Cocoon you are shielded against the noise and pulse around you. Let your favorite music flow out through the built-in Bluetooth speakers and adjust the LED lights to fit your mood. With little more than a 3’X3’ area you can create an environment for people to decompress, will away a headache or re-group themselves after a poor phone call or taxing meeting.

A happy employee is a satisfied, valuable player committed to the team and wishes to be present and participate.  Lean on TeamPAR to help create value and culture in your environment —- from Wellness Rooms to Relaxation Rooms to Cocoons —- show your employees you care about their needs and want to improve their stressful lives.

Every Tuesday through October 31st, be sure to keep an eye out for our Alexa & Karen’s Weekly Favorite and learn how partnering with TeamPAR can bring you stunning flooring and unique designs.
